Our Christian Journey: How Do We Do Well?

Moving together from “we do not well” (2 Kings 7:9) to “well done” (Matthew 25:23).

Our Christian Journey: How Do We Do Well?

Discipleship – The journey to the end of the beginning

Winston Churchill said, “Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” There was a time you accepted that Jesus Christ was the only way to be forgiven your innate rejection of God and impending punishment. You know that He will be returning for you one day to take you to live eternally. (If not, click here: https://www.livingwaters.com/why-christianity/) But what do we do in between? How do we grow as Christians while we await eternity?

This blog is an attempt to help us build our relationship with God and other Christians on this earthbound journey – “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17). I will be sharing my experiences, understandings and even some songs and media in light of Scripture with hope that God will encourage, challenge or otherwise motivate to His glory. Sometimes, it will be short, seemingly random musings and other times longer, deeper content. To be honest, it’s something I’ve felt the need to do for a long time, but like Moses, continually said, “Who am I” (Exodus 3:11) that I should speak on behalf of God to His people and they should listen or care about anything that I say about my own experiences. I even tried to start another blog about discipleship called ‘water for the thirsty soul,’ but again, my thoughts were immediately, ‘no one is going to read it or if they do, they won’t care or be helped.’

So, here we are together, please say a prayer for my guidance as I attempt to follow God’s will, as uncomfortable as it is, and that your heart is open to His leading. Please let me know if I am way off base or using Scripture incorrectly as I want this to be an open, positive growing space for Christians from newly saved to nearly Home. Let’s travel together!
