Missing Verses vol. 4

Growing up in a Christian Church, I’ve sung a lot of hymns. As mentioned in Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs, music, especially hymns, is very important to me. For time’s sake, we would usually sing three of the verses (or sometimes just the first verse) even if there were four or five. While trying to find full versions of these hymns, I had some difficulty as, even online, these verses aren’t always included. Here are some of these “missing verses” that speak important biblical truths.

Jesus Paid it All v.3-4 – “For nothing good have I Whereby They grace to claim – I’ll wash my garments white In the blood of Cal-v’ry’s Lamb. And when, before the throne, I stand in Him complete, ‘Jesus died my soul to save,’ My lips shall still repeat. Jesus paid it all, all to Him I owe; Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.”

Lead Me to Calvary v.3-4 – “Let me like Mary, thro’ the gloom, Come with gift to Thee; Show to me now the empty tomb, Lead me to Calvary. May I be willing, Lord, to bear Daily my cross for Thee; Even Thy cup of grief to share, Thou hast borne all for me. Lest I forget Gethsemane; Lest I forget Thine agony; Lest I forget Thy love for me, Lead me to Calvary.”

Joy Unspeakable v.2-3 – “I have found the pleasure I once craved, It is joy and peace within; What a wondrous blessing! I am saved From the awful gulf of sin. I have found that hope so bright and clear, Living in the realm of grace; Oh, the Savior’s presence is so near, I can see His smiling face. It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, Full of glory, full of glory; It is joy unspeakable and full of glory, Oh, the half has never yet been told.”
